Dog Friendly at the Swan
Our dog-friendly rooms
We accept all types of dogs without size, breed, or weight restrictions at our dog friendly hotel in Port Townsend, as long as they are well-mannered and non-threatening. Fido is allowed in our Ground Floor Studios and one of our cottages. A pet fee of $25/night per dog applies. We offer complimentary dog treats, a variety of dog supplies (just in case the food bowl got left at home), a comfy dog bed to use during your dog’s stay, and designated clean-up baggies. If you need help arranging a dog-sitter or dog-walker, we’ll be glad to assist. Stop by the front desk to pick up a walking map of dog-friendly areas/dog parks. Your well-behaved dog will be greeted as a welcome guest at The Swan Hotel, and be sure to check with any stores and restaurants for dog-specific rules before entering.

Pet-Friendly Places in Port Townsend
In the warmer months there are many different restaurants with outdoor seating areas that are dog friendly. In Port Townsend all city parks allow dogs. Leash laws require that dogs be on leashes no longer than eight feet. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Dog Policy
You take full responsibility for your animal and any damage(s) that may occur. In order to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, we ask that you read the following dog policy, which you will need to sign and agree to upon arrival.
1. A pet fee per dog per night will be applied to your reservation. Dogs must be registered with the front desk.
2. In consideration of other guests and staff, dogs may not be left in a room unattended at any time.
3. Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their dog and will be responsible for the repair and/or replacement of any items stained or damaged by their dog. Please keep dogs off the bed and furnishings.
4. Dog bowls are provided for convenience during your stay; please do not use hotel dishes.
5. Do not bathe your dog in hotel bathtubs or showers; doggie towels are provided for muddy paws so please make sure your dog is clean upon entering the hotel.
6. Dogs that bark repeatedly or display aggressive behaviors will be required to leave.
7. Dogs are allowed in the lobby, in ground floor suites, and one of the cottages.
8. Dogs are to be leashed and accompanied by an owner when not in their hotel room. This includes hotel common areas and grounds.
9. Please pick up after your dog does his or her business; we’ve provided Dogipot bags for this purpose and additional bags are available if needed.
10. Any repairs or extraordinary cleaning because of your dog may result in you being charged a damage fee in addition to the per dog per night fee required at check-in.
11. Any violation of the above policies may result in a minimum $150.00 charge. Thank you for respecting our policies for the sake of your dog as well as the safety and comfort of other guests in the hotel.

A View from the Top
The Penthouse Suite is the entire third floor of the main building and features a full kitchen, large dining area, and living space. The master bedroom has a king bed and a master bath with a two-person soaking bathtub. The Suite also features a second bedroom with a queen bed, a second full bath, and a loft with two queen beds. Two private decks offer dramatic views of Whidbey Island and the Cascade Mountains, Admiralty Inlet, Port Townsend Bay, Historic Downtown Port Townsend, and the Olympic Mountains.
The Penthouse Suite sleeps up to eight guests aged 12 and up. Prior approval is required for any form of an event being held in this suite. One parking space is available on site for the Penthouse Suite, and there are public parking options nearby for additional vehicles. Please note that the penthouse is only accessible via stairs.

The Penthouse is available to book in three different ways:
The King Suite option is for single or double occupancy of the master bedroom. This includes use of the King Bedroom and master bath, the living room, the full kitchen, dining room and the additional bathroom located in the main living area.
The Two Bedroom Suite option is for occupancy of up to four guests and includes everything the King Suite offers with the addition of a second bedroom with a Queen bed.
The Entire Penthouse option is for occupancy of up to eight guests and includes everything the Two Bedroom Suite offers with the addition of the Loft which has two additional Queen beds.

Perched on the edge of the marina, our studios accommodate up to 2 guests. Choose from our premium view studios with a view of Point Hudson and Port Townsend Bay, our standard second floor studios with a view of downtown Port Townsend, and our dog-friendly ground-floor studios.
Private Cottages
Our charming, well-equipped cottages offer a bit more privacy and an ideal place to unwind. Each is equipped with its own small patio and Adirondack chairs so you can enjoy the fresh air and take in the sights. One of our cottages is also dog friendly!
